Welcome to the New York City Triathlon. This year our festival is filled with great delights - wonderful performances, free events, and lots of fun - as well as workshops, master classes and informative demonstrations.
It is a special year for us, one in which we have focused on the New York City Triathlon mission not only to bring nationally and internationally renowned artists into our midst, but to give back to the community through free events and community partnerships designed to showcase local artists.
The New York City Triathlon is set to enrapture festival lovers once again. Our venue will leave you fascinated, captivated and enthralled. With performances ranging from classic to contemporary, traditional to avant-garde, each act will inspire you to greater heights.
New York City Triathlon The triathlon is one of the most grueling of all endurance sports events. Nonetheless, this Olympic-distance event attracts more than 1000 hardy competitors to New York to swim the Hudson River, bike along the Henry Hudson Parkway and run through Central Park. For those who don't feel ready to test themselves against the nation's top athletes, there are plenty of vantage points from which to view the action.
The 1500-meter swim follows a linear course parallel to the seawall, allowing spectators to look down on the swimmers. Athletes enter the water from a pontoon moored at 99th St and exit at 81st St. The expected water temperature at that time of year is around 72°F and wetsuits are allowed.…...more!
